Crabby News

Since we’re beggining to doubt that anyone really checks the crabby website I’d like to note that we do have a wishlist page up on crabby’s site that is all about the kid related items we know we’ll be needing.

Soon we’ll create registries and all that stuff at the appropriate places, but this list is a good general start for us.  If anyone knows of anything that we’re missing (and will miss not having when the time comes) please let us know.

  1. Of course we’re checking the Crabby website. Speaking for myself, my bookmark folder includes, in order, The Family, Twisted String, and Crabby. Any time I’ve looked at Family, I round the day off by checking Twisted String and Crabby.

But honestly, what in the world would I have to say in response to either of those? I did leave a comment on the crochet post .. but most of the time, there’s really not anything I have to say that would in any way contribute. What in the world do I know about pregnancy??

  2. then don’t.

i guess we, i, whatever just thought that everyone would be just as excited or whatever about some stuff and be commenting. so it’s not happening, disapointment is a part of life, we’ll live. i guess we shouldn’t have done the website and just let everyone call if they wanted to know what was going on.

it wasn’t meant to be a you have to have been or are pregnant to comment or share. god knows this is a learning experience for me and chris. we wanted to share and wanted people to share with us in how our life is changing.

  3. Sweetheart, I LOVE reading your page. I check it, as I said, on a daily basis. I am just tickled to be able to vicariously be there and hear your musings and observations as they happened.

Sometimes, it’s even more intimate than if I actually were physically there in person, and that’s a good thing when it happens (though of course I would rather just be there)

My comment wasn’t that I don’t find what you’re saying interesting, because I do, really really. And I am excited and happy and all thrilled. But I have nothing to share back with you, and – as much as I talk – I try not to simply write for the sake of writing. I try to actually have something to communicate when I write.

I’ll try to be better about commenting. But don’t fret if my replies are lacking in substance.

  4. I sympathize…. I have had the white Family site up and running for over a week, and one person besides me has signed in (one time). I know that i have not given it enough time, but it is so frustrating to have spent all the time working on it for nothing.

By the way, I do read your baby blog. I wish you posted every day. Sometimes i will go for days checking and finding only the entries that I have already read, and then, having found nothing so many times, i will stop checking for a few days… and when i look again and find that there is a new post, and it has been there for days! i get a little upset because i did not find it the day it was written.

I found your wish list the other day. I followed all the links and looked at all the items and wished that you had a link for the stroller too. I had intended to leave a message at that time saying that i had found the wish list, but i was not signed in and i had to leave the computer for some reason…. and then i got immersed in the white tree for a few days. So i just now left the “I saw the wish list” post.

I want to get you the bed…. and the headboard too…. It would be easier to go back and get the headboard when you need it later, but with my luck they would change the style between now and then, so i suppose it will just have to be stored. And i do like the changing table/chest. (You had described how it would go from changing table to chest later – very well done.)

  5. I need to find the link to the stoller thinger we want. The problem is that they just brought out the 2006 models and we had looked at 2005.

I’ll try to look over the next few days and see if I can find the one at the company site.

and er…um…the headboard?? the one we were looking at doesn’t have one that i know of, but we do need that matress pad (which is standard crib size!! wooo hooooo) and mom (mine) also wants to buy the bed… so we’ll have to compromise with everyone there

and yeah, isn’t that changing table just the coolest thing???

  6. Oh duh. Somehow i registered the expansion shelf as a bookcase headboard for when the baby bed converts up. Perhaps that is because I like bookcase heaboards. Anyway, i see now that it is for the changing table – which does work very nicely – way more functional.

  7. As for who buys the bed… It is not that important. Of course I would like to look at the bed and think “I gave them that” because i think the bed is very special, 🙂 but really, as long as you get the bed, changing table/chest (with the extention shelves), and the stroller (and all the other things that make life easier) what difference does it really make who gets what for you. Perhaps your mom could get the bed and i could get the changing table… or if someone else has dibs on that, the stroller, and if someone has dibs on that too, i am sure there will be other things. (I like the toy box… but it is not as special as the bed and chest are)
