if there was ever a day to stay at home

today would be it.  I mean, come on… 6th day of the 6th month in 2006.  If friday the 13th is supposed to be bad, just think about today?

Well, ok, that’s not why I’d love to be home.  Actually, it’s because tomorrow is the Big Moving Day and we have plenty of stuff to take over ourselves.  Part of it is ‘we don’t trust other people to move this’ type items, the rest is ‘opps, we packed more boxes than our estimate covers’.  Amazing how fast those boxes pile up.  Natrually, the stuff that we’re moving ourselves gets moved today.  That’s going to be loads of fun.  Three loads, to be exact.   Using both cars.  Maybe that would qualify as six loads?  And don’t worry, Christina isn’t carrying anything heavy.  That’s my job.  We have plenty of things packed up that are nice and light; we packed them that way on purpose.  If we get into a load of ‘everything is heavy’, rest assured that Christina will be staying inside while Chris hauls things in.

  1. Well, I’m reading through these a little late. But still, I thought I’d go you one better:

When I get to work, I log into all the multiple programs, starting with mail, and after the logins I go back to mail and check it, which starts with flagging all the obviously unnecessary e-mails and deleing them.

Followed this sequence of events. Then I noticed:

Lotus asked if I wanted to delete 13 messages at 9:11am on 06/06/06.

Could it have been any worse??

  2. Sure; you might need to set unix permissions at work on a weekly basis that use that same number, minus the zeros. Social training just makes me not want to use those permissions.

Or, for something even better (worse?) … how would you feel if that was your birthday?

  3. they have text equivalents for those chmod permissions, you know. I’ll type +r all I need if that’s my option.
