Fred

Luke’s sister, Andrea is married to Fred. Recently Fred went to a doctor… not sure why… headaches maybe… it turned out to be serious… a tumor.

He is a vet so he went to the veterans hospital where here they removed all they could and tested it. It is cancer…. the most difficult kind to treat. They give him a year….

They are seeking treatment. Some alternative methods offer some hope, but… well… thought you should know….

  1. nothing new so far as the cancer is concerned… They have been trying to sell his business for a while and have reduced the price hoping for q quick sale. They have decided to sell the house they just built and move into town where they will be closer to the hospital. And they are looking into various cancer treatment centers. Probably every major city in the country has a cancer treatment center that offers alternative methods. I don’t know if they are looking out of the country, though i would in their position.

The kind of cancer he has (which i will have to write down when in hear it next time) is not curable and is aggressive. When they performed the surgery to remove the tumor they got all they could without messing up his brain, but they had to leave parts in there. Even if they had taken the parts they could see that would require the removal of brain tissue and/or blood supply there would have been tendrils left. Knowing they could not take it all they opted to not mess with his brain. They say he is fine after the surgery – no loss of memory or function.

But, the cancer will grow back. They said there is no conventional treatment and gave him a year. I imagine they are still in shock. Andrea says that Fred’s faith is strong and all their friends are praying and supporting and God is their strength…. I am sure it helps to be long-time active church members and to believe that God will get you thru no matter what happens at a time like this.
