Ski trip

Hi – thought I’d post my ski pictures here for all to enjoy.

Ski Album on Picassa

We had a fabulous time. Kevin spent most of his time standing around saying encouraging things, which is why all the pictures are of me. When I stood around, I huddled inside while Kevin did one of his black diamond runs. Which would have been too fast for me to take a picture of anyway.

  1. That looks like so much fun!

Chris and I went to Breckenridge for ye old high school band trip. It seemed really nice, but I think I’d enjoy it more now…perhaps try snowboarding too. 🙂

I can even begin to fathom a black diamond run. Go Kevin! Glad you both had wonderful time. I am sure Aleah is going to be very jealous of SNOW!

  2. I liked Breckenridge. It seemed similar to Steamboat in being somewhat beginner friendly, and yet big enough to have plenty of challenges for Kevin.

Arapahoe was much more convenient, but also much more advanced. I can see why it’s a particular favorite among the advanced ski set, but it’s just too much for me right now. Falling down hurt.

Oh, I don’t think I mentioned that. On that day, I fell down so much. And on the last run of the day, down that big hill, I had what Kevin tells me is called a ‘yard sale’ – fell down hard enough that all my gear came off. Skis popped off, let go of the poles .. and since I’m wearing all of Kevin’s gear, I also lost the ski mitts (since they’re very large on me, and since they were looped to the ski poles). I am so very glad I elected to rent a ski helmet. That, at least, stayed on.

Luckily that wasn’t the first day – my beginning at Breckenridge was very tentative after so much falling the day before, but by the end of the day I was happy enough with skiing to be willing to go do it again.
