Another WW meeting

Sigh…. this time not so good…. which i don’t (and do) understand. I had good and bad days up till Tuesday so i figured they balanced out. Tuesday i ate something that disagreed with me big time… turned my bowels to caustic liquid and gave me the most massive painful gas i have ever had. Wednesday i ate very little; I still hurt. Thurdsay i took myself to the doctor because i still hurt, though not as much (She is sending me for the colonostomy she has tried to send me for before… said I’m probably just sore from distention, but i need a colonostomy anyway.) Today i had a half cup of ceriel and milk in the morning (she also told me no dairy for a few days) and a little left-over squash for lunch.

So I figured i would have lost something. I lost nothing!! Not an ounce!!! (not that they count ounces). What is the point of being sick, I would like to know, if you don’t lose weight?!?!?!?

The reason i do understand not losing it is that i am bloated…. that time of the (every 3 or 4 now) month(s).

Maybe next week i will have lost another 5.

I WANT MY 25 POUND STAR REFRIGERATOR MAGNET!

I like that diet Chris… another way of giving yourself permission to have the foods you should avoid so you don’t obsess over them.

  1. I got sick enough to lose about 12 pounds once. When I got better I enjoyed the weight loss.

For about three days. Most of the weight lost was water; that came back quick. And the rest followed without a pause.

Moral: weight lost when sick doesn’t stay off nearly as well as weight lost from diet/exercise.

  2. There’s a diet going around the office where you are on this strict schedule for a set number of days, then you are free to eat whatever is within reason (don’t gorge, but eat whatever) for another set of days. It’s not terribly regular – it’s like 3 on, 2 off, then 1 on, and 3 off, then 4 on …. I think you repeat every two weeks or three weeks or so. But when you’re on, the diet tells you exactly what and when and how much etc.

A couple of co-workers have lost much weight on the plan. Then they go off when they get to the target weight, and go back on if they notice the weight creeping up. The ring leader is in the office next to mine. He encourages everyone who happens to be on it at the time.

It drives me up the wall.

But that aside, it’s a variation of the same concept. And it seems to work for them.

I have never experienced illness related weight loss. Even when I was so sick I lost track of three entire days. So I can’t help you there.

Oh well. My day will come … (right .. as if this is some great milestone in a person’s life .. lol)

But next week -next week. The refrigerator magnet will come. It will. We believe in you.
