Grail ps

OK; will try to keep this one a -bit- shorter than previous ones.

Grailing has six different powders – yeast, barley, tea, mushrooms, kelp, and the hoxsey blend. Right now I’m mixing them in all different combinations so that he gets two different ones at each meal, hopefully covering all six of them in the day. He’s supposed to get some of all of them each day.

It would be much easier for delivery purposes if I could mix up all six into a day’s powder mix. I could do up a week or more at a time, and then I’d just have to pour powder onto the food, without having to mess with capsules and remembering which are the whole capsule, which are the half capsule, which are 1/2 tsp and 1/4 tsp and etc. The chart helps A Lot but if I could do this up a week in advance, that would help even more. Specifically, it would help Kevin. (Kevin is good about following the chart, but easier would be better).

I’m having trouble figuring out how to store this powder mix, though. I’ve thought of those 7 day pill dispensers, which is the right concept, but the little slots are generally small rectangles that don’t lend themselves to spoons or to pouring little bits at a time out of them.

Does anyone have any other ideas for storage and delivery? All told, it would be about a tablespoon’s worth of powder for a day, maybe a little less.

  1. Thinking….. I do have a bunch of those 7 day things of the large size. They were a failed attemt to make me take my vitamins. I think i have 6 of them. I am not sure that they would hold powder well if you were to open a lid and pour out the contents, though, and they are the traditional cube shape, so not good for a spoon.

Anyway, if you would like to have them i doubt if they would cost much to mail and i will look wherever i go and if anything looks good i wil get it.

  2. You know, if you had a camera phone you could say “If anything looks good I’ll take a picture and forward it to you” :->

Don’t get anything, just tell me what you find. I’ve thought about the pill dispenser option, and I’m really not sure it would work. There are 3-4 (sometimes 5) meals in a day, so I’d need to be able to tip out or scoop out a controlled 1/3 to 1/5 of the powder. I’d like to be able to just tip it and pour, like I would if it were in really tiny tupperware containers. REALLY tiny ones. I’m using the smallest tupperware for his liquids and the liver.

You can get empty gel caps, and fill them with your own whatever. If I could get gel caps that were mega horse vitamen size (and a way to mount them for filling them) that would be nice. About a tablespoon’s worth of powder.

I really appreciate the thoughts. If you do see something, do call or whatever. I’m actively looking for items and ideas.

  3. What about contact lens containers? Remember those that you had for a while that were actually pretty good sized? I used to keep them to use for craft paint or whatever. I probably have one around that i could photograph if you don’t remember what I am talking about. One could post a freecycle wanted for them if one knew what to call them…. though it would hardly be worth it to go fat to pick one set. They may come in different sizes, but they would all be round bottomed… perhaps not big enough to get a spoon into, but if you had enough of them to measure into the container and dump the whole thing when you needed it, it might work as a way to premeasure.

  4. That is a really good idea. I’ll see if I still have any. And there are people at work who wear contacts; I could see if they could give me any old containers they have.
