I had the second part of my sleep study last night. The first half went poorly, worse than it really should have. They rated me at an average of 76 “episodes” an hour. As i understand it, an episode is anything from snoring to leg movement to a disruption in breathing so it is not that big a deal. I asked what was so bad about movement and they said that it disrupts rim sleep. Well… ok… i guess if that is true, too much movement is not good, but some movement is good. Not moving when i sleep means i wake up all stiff and sore.

We’ve got christmas coming up soon and I see lists on the right side that haven’t gotten any recent attention.
Even if all you do is put a link to your amazon wishlist, update those pages!
(and yes, I realize that I haven’t done much updating on my own wishlist)
Everyone here has probably already seen it, but I’ll re-post it anyway.
This is an interesting quick test of which side of the brain you are using:Â left/right brain
So, what side of the brain are you using?
Can you make it switch directions?

That’s right, folks – especially you folks with flowers blooming in their yards – we have our first snow today.
Today, the day I leave for a week in Raleigh where it’s 80 degrees outside.
And it’s snowing. Sigh ………….
Ok, this is a post and run.
These folks took various foods and took pictures of how much of the food would it take to make up 200 calories.
Here’s a few signs from around work:
This one is kinda interesting, but I’m not decided if I really like it or not. Partially because the sign is too hard to read without looking at the image at full size.
And this one, which is part of an ongoing project to get pictures of graffiti, is just kinda funny on how crowded the picture has gotten.
The strangest thing…. a flower has sprung up in the grass in the back yard. It is not near where anything is planted and we have no idea how it came to be there… but it is very pretty. I took a picture…. It is overcast so the picture does not do the colors justice, but it gives a good idea. I stuck my foot out at the base to give you an idea of the size.
I uploaded a very large picture… i wanted you to be able to see the bloom.
Or, the bonus at work arrived earlier than I thought it should. See, last year the bonus came in the first half of December. I thought that was the standard time; I was wrong. Instead, bonuses are supposed to come out around… well, now. Ok, not today but at the end of September.
Anyway. Christina and I have been talking about this year’s bonus and what to do with it. Yes, some of it went into savings. However, savings was admittedly on the tail end of the list of things to do with the bonus.
Here’s a list of the things we did with the bonus:
new camera (I’m looking for a hobby)
new hard drive for computer (to make space for more pictures)
new DVD writer drive for computer (to back up all our important pictures and files)
new music player for Chris (’cause I have been known to borrow Christina’s)
new vacuum cleaner for the house (ours is not working so well these days)
pay bills (but none of them needed the bonus in order for us to pay them off, so this isn’t much)
put in savings (what was left after all of the above)
So, in a way, Christmas has come early.
Also, for the new camera, here’s a few example shots of what I’ve been able to do with it:
The Fish, a common subject. Ignore the dirty state of the tank.
A sunset picture. I really like doing landscape pictures.
A friendly spider taking down some of the population of grasshoppers.
A rainbow that Christina alerted me to. About ten minutes later and this was gone.
And of course, Aleah. I love this shot with just her face in focus. I think it captures the motion well.
