Getting rid of stuff

OK, all.  My index of the stuff we’re getting rid of, one way or another, is at http://ramona.4101.org/Stuff/.

The colors and comments aren’t in there, and even though I took the pictures yesterday there’s already more in our give-away pile.   But if you see something you’d like, or if there’s something you’d suggest for someone else, let me know.  I’m totally open to suggestions.

Oh, and there’s a color code on there for ‘destined to be sold’  – that doesn’t mean it’s out of bounds, that we’re planning to sell.   More of, those are the items I think are really nice and could be sold.    Everything on there, I’d prefer to give away to the right person.   So use the ‘sell’ color as a key to ‘the nice stuff’.

Reasons to love working at home

One of the things I love about my job is the ability to work from home.  When the weather went bad this week everyone did exactly that; so I started thinking about what I liked the best about working from home.  So, the top ten list:

  1. Pants are optional
  2. No need to shave
  3. Being able to stay warm under a blanket
  4. Free access to liquor cabinet (one glass of scotch over ~5 hours)
  5. No need for shoes
  6. Snacks any time (at least, if we have them)
  7. Listen to music if I want without worrying about co-workers
  8. Full size window view instead of window across the hall view (ooo… snow flakes!  well, for a little while anyway)
  9. Able to visit/hold baby whenever
  10. Hugs and kisses from wife all day

How about ya’ll?

Quick question…

Could ya’ll go to the main page of 4101.org and tell me if the two ‘why’ links work for you?

I’m trying out something new and figured the best way to get feedback is to ask some people, so consider yourselves asked!

Ethics and the desk

Chris’s Desk. I gave it away. Actually i gave it away twice. I did not want to give it away but i did not have room for it and Chris did not want it and it is just a desk, after all. It did work perfectly for my ebay stuff, and for that reason and simply because it had been Chris’s, i wanted to keep it, but i could not figure a way to make it fit.

Blizzard II

I’m still working on getting the pictures loaded to the 4101 page so they can be viewed – having trouble accessing the ftp site (Chris ?)

The page (when you can view it) is at http://www.geocities.com/ramona_traynor/move-blizzard.html. Stlll very boring.

BUT …. it’s not over yet. NWS is forecasting another storm to come through Thursday and continue through the weekend, with 7-14 inches possible (90% chance of 2-4 inches tomorrow).

So here we go again … whee!!

Christmas and the diet

I heard somewhere that the average person gains 6 pounds over the holidays. I assume that means from Thanksgiving to New Years. I joined LA the week before Thanksgiving and it is now the day before Christmas. I have lost 10 pounds as of Friday. I probably have gained a bit of that back today. Today has not been a good dieting day. But I think that by the end of “the holiday season” i will have lost a little over 10 pounds. It is not how much i wanted to lose by this time (not quite to where i was by this time last year) but it is good to have made it thru another holiday season losing instead of gaining, even though what i have lost was all gained this year after i went off last year’s diet.

Blizzard!!

OH! Look at the NWS for Colorado – we’re under a BLIZZARD warning!

Do any of you guys have camera phones? I wish there was some way to get pictures to you.

I just saw a little baby tumbleweed (yes, we have tumbleweeds) skittering down the snow covered street. Too funny.

Looking out the window, I have a visibility of 5-8 houses. The wind sounds just like blizzard winds sound, whistling through the trees and blowing this dry snow everywhere – it acts and sounds like sand.

On the back porch, there’s a clear, wind swept patch next to a foot+ drift. Open the front door, and the snow is stacked about 5″ deep. The steps leading up to my (and everyone elses’) house are covered, particularly the first step. I know where the road is, but can’t see the curbs to make sure. And between my house and my neighbor, the wind has swept the ground almost completely clear.

Oh, I WISH I could share pictures!!

It is just so wild to watch and hear all this. We’re under a blizzard warning through noon tomorrow – can you imagine?

black purse

I carry a purse like Christina’s these days (shaped like an off center teardrop) only mine is black. It is about the same size as Zoeie. This morning i was looking for my purse and out of the corner of my eye, saw Zoe sitting near the couch. For a moment i thought she was my purse. She is about the same size and color. This is not the first time this has happened.
